Hmm, this is quite hard. There is no one person that i aspire to be like. And not because i am egotistical. There are many wonderful people in my life who have inspired me and taught me something along the way. I aspire to be my true self, to examine and know my(self) in order to be the best person i could be for the sake of bringing something of value into our world. I look up to the prophets for character and discipline. I look up to my soul family for their spiritual strength, i look up to my parents for their courage to face some harsh things in the past, i look up to individuals who cross my path and brighten my day.
In my photographer life Robert Capa and Yan Arthus-Bertran are my role models and my own example of the type of photographer I would like to be. “If your pictures aren’t good enough, you aren’t close enough.” – Robert Capa
My role models have evolved and changed as I have changed.
As a child it was a favorite aunt who loved me unconditionally… unlike my mom (I thought)
Older and after many years of recovery, my mom… she taught me so much that I hated and came to love about me.
Today… as I grow and change, my idols change… photographers teach me technique, my sponsor teaches me patience and tolerance… my husband teaches me love.
My role model for art and writing is the scientist Nikola Tesla. I like his constant concision, invention, and re-invention. His mind is undaunted by the unknown. That’s the approach I want to take with creating new things. Fear nothing (or try to), and want everything.
Hi Thomas, thanks for the follow. I look forward to seeing your work. I have no working role model. I went to art school and no one in my family had ever done that. That taught me to be more self-reliant, and to trust my instincts. I wish that life was just that clear, that our thoughts and actions always reflected something more meaningful. But, alas, they don’t – or at least they don’t seem to.
I am always inspired by art and imagination. all the best.
